Tata Safari Storme Facelift Preview
The Tata Safari Storme was introduced in 2012 and is due for a facelift soon. The test mules of the revised car have been spotted testing several times in our country. The revamped version is expected to get a few changes to the exterior and interior as well and might be launched in early 2015.
Exterior
The revised iteration of the Storme will get some cosmetic changes setting it apart from the previous model. While the silhouette of the car will remain the same, the other changes include a new honeycomb mesh grille and a redesigned bumper at the front. The car might get restyled headlamps and redesigned fog lamps. At the back, the bumper might get a collapsible step while the inclusion of LED tail lamps will be a good change and in line with the updates that most facelifted cars receive.
Interior
The cabin is where most of the upgrades are expected to be seen. One of the most speculated changes to interior includes front facing captain seats in the third row instead of the present, side facing seats. The upholstery might be revised and a redesigned central console with a neatly integrated music system might be thrown in along with some more new features.
Engine
The current models of the Tata Safari Storme are powered by the 2.2-litre VariCOR diesel engine that produces 140bhp of power. The power output of this mill might be increased to 150bhp of power and 320Nm of torque like the Tata Aria. The motor will continue to be mated to the existing five-speed manual transmission. Tata might tweak the chassis to improve the ride and handling characteristics of the upcoming Storme.
Competition
The refreshed Safari Storme is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh and will rival the refreshed Mahindra Scorpio.
